Olivia, Tania, and Alyssa screaming and trying to hold on.  It got a little bumpy for them when they told us to go faster.

Adam being silly pretending like he's a headless man. His brother had fallen asleep and didn't know we took the picture.

Great Black and White Photographers PART 3

1.) The first thing that caught my eye was all of the arms hanging. I like how towards the middle of the arms theres a darker one and it's not fake it's a real person standing in the dark behind the fake ones that are hanging. The head on the shelf is another thing also caught my eye because it's another body part.

2.) I see body parts everywhere. Arms hanging on shelves. Also a real person behind all of the arms sticking their arm out pretending to also be apart of the fake ones.
I smell plastic from the arms. Perfume from the girl behind. Wood from the shelves.
I hear people talking. Clashing of plastic products. Door closing and opening.
I taste the smell of plastic products takes over all other sense and moves from my lungs while inhaling to the back of my throat.
I feel skin of the girl in the dark. The hard empty plastic and the soft texture of the mask.

1) The first thing that caught my eye in this picture was the stigma of the flower. It looks like little worms coming  out of something an egg or something. I like how you can tell which side the lights coming from because the left side is darker.

Academic Shoot reflection

1. Finding good classes to take them in was the hardest. Also finding something exciting.
2. I found myself focusing the camera the most.
3. Go on a day that exciting things are going on in classes like maybe when a science class is doing a lab. Look for better things to take pictures of.
4. Take the pictures.
5. Framing.
6. Simplicity and balancing.
7. Simplicity ask Mr.Reeves or go to another website to look.

Africa & Mural Project preview (2)

1. What theme that we could take here at school could we do a series of these panels to place around the school?
I would like to do a theme of "Friends" or maybe "Sports".

2. Should we use phones only, or should we open it up to our regular cameras for those people that don't have camera phones?
I think we should use both for people that have phone and for the people that don't have cameras good enough or a camera phone at all.

3. Where would you want to put the mural on campus?
In the halls, on the main stairs, the fish bowls, lockers, places where people will look at them.

Africa & Mural Project preview (1)

My reaction to the slide show was that it was very beautiful and soothing. I was also amazed by some of the pictures I saw because they looked unreal.

3. This is my favorite picture because I love lions and I think they're so beautiful! I also love that it's both a male and female together. They look like like they're in love and he's trying to protect her.

4. It's using simplicity because the main focus are the two lions touching heads.

 a.  What kind of camera did he use? Pentax 6711

b.     What is his reason for taking the photos? He found these animals mysterious, amazing, and beautiful. He wanted to capture them in natural being.

c.     What is his hope by taking these types of photos? By taking these types of photos he hoped to catch the animals in their natural state, state of being, find their emotion.

d.     "The photos are my elegy to these beautiful creatures, to this wrenchingly beautiful world that is steadily, tragically vanishing before our eyes."

Academic Shoot preview

My favorite picture was "Melancholy" because of the way that it was taken. In the picture is a boy pouring two different liquids into another container making a different liquid that's turned a different color in a science classroom. The picture is focused on him and what he's doing and everything else behind him isn't focused.

1. Why did you pick this photo?
I picked this photo because I liked the side it was taken from and how him and what he's doing is the main focus.
2. What rules of photography are evident in the photo?

Balance and framing.

1. Where do you think you could take photos like the ones you look at today? In science & math classrooms  maybe english. Also in the gym and speech classrooms.
2. Whose classroom would you like to visit and take photos in?Mr.Nash, Mrs.Jenschke, The gym, Ms.Kesling, and Ms.Fayad.
3. What will you do, as the photographer, to get amazing photos like you look at today?Pick good sides and views to take them from. Also of people that are actually working and going to classrooms that there is stuff going on in.

Filling the Frame

In this picture it looks like the girls were in a science class doing an experiment. It seems like the reaction to whatever it was caused an explosion which is what the picture caught. They look like they're having fun and the experiment is interesting.

Action & Emotion

In this picture I think the girl was going to get papers to help pass out for the teacher and someone was taking a picture of them while the boy jumped in and made a funny pose that made the teacher also make one. They look really happy and silly. They also look like they really like their teacher.

The story

I think in the girls serving food in this picture are having a benefit to raise money for something important. Maybe after a natural disaster or to raise money for a friend that needs help or a family. They could also be volunteering somewhere.

Post shoot reflection

1. Picking the right and appropriate things to take pictures of.

2. Focusing the camera and picking the right spot to take the picture. For example when I took the picture of the pencil dispensers I had to choose the right position and side to take it from.

3. Pick better views from some of the pictures and choose better things to take pictures of. Also use the six techniques we learned about.

4. Use the same camera and have Tania as my partner.

6. Yes so that I could use the techniques and take better photos from the first time.

Photo Manipulation & Ethics

1. A) The main point of this story is this story is the digital manipulation and its outcome. Photographers have taken images and manipulated them, some outcomes have been every single picture submitted by that individual taken down and even that photographer losing their job.

B) This type of photo editing is mostly unethical because you're creating a completely different image for people to look at. Sometimes making more dramatic or ect.

2. A) I think this is the most unethical picture because they're making it seem like theres a debate going on when the two have really never even met or been in the same room.

B) I think this was most ethical because all the changes they made weren't dramatic or crazy the just took out the pole that was behind the lady screaming.

Rule of Thirds

This is an example of the rule of thirds because the person is walking in the middle is the focus while the two buildings are leading to him or her and getting the whole person and street rather than just some of it.

Simplicity

This is a good example of simplicity because the background behind her is still and she's the center of the picture.

Balance

This is an example of balance because the woman with the curly short hair are balancing out with the buildings and the big puffy smoke at the top.

Avoiding Merges

This is a good example of avoiding merges because the yellow vehicle is in the way of the white one and they're merging with each other. The yellow vehicles also merging with the poles and mail boxes.

Lines

This is an example of lines because of the smoke lining up with the people that are jumping from the building.

Framing

This is an example of framing because the two trucks on the right and left side of the picture are framing the cars and rest of the street.

Unusual & interesting photos (Part 3)

1. -A painter should always look for a connection between them and the subject.
-Paint a picture or take one that tells a story.
-Never stop looking for the right angle to take a photo.

4. Their picture is telling a story and it's from a good angle but you can't really see a connection between the photographer or painter and subject.

5. I believe I'd take a picture like Norman Rockwell because I'd like to capture a moment have there be a story behind the photograph.
